I work to create a space where the client feels safe, supported and understood, so that we may take steps forward in the healing process and journey of change. Utilizing psychodynamic, existential and relationship-based approaches, I help clients in becoming “unstuck,” through addressing difficult emotions and feelings, and processing challenging experiences. Within a safe environment, clients can explore their own histories to gain insight into how their past may influence their present. This cultivation of a deeper self-understanding leads one on the path to growth and long term change.

I respect and value working with clients of all ages, from varying cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities.

Common areas of focus include:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Matrescence- the ongoing physical, emotional, hormonal and social transition to becoming a mother

  • Grief and Loss

  • The Global Pandemic/COVID-19

  • Self-Esteem Issues

  • Relationship Problems

  • Stress

  • Fertility, Pregnancy, and Postpartum

  • Trauma

  • Major Life Transitions

No matter how rewarding, being a parent can be really difficult. And factors of the global pandemic may truly limit support and increase anxieties. My approach helps parents work through challenges mindfully, with love, and with confidence.

In sessions with parents, we will work together, with curiosity and compassion, to navigate the difficult transitions in your child’s life, or you and your family's life. Utilizing a psycho-educational approach, as well as concepts and techniques of mindful parenting, we can gain better understanding of the both child’s inner experience and the adults’ experience as a parent, leading us to find new ways for the family to cope and grow together.

I provide tools and techniques, cultivated from neuroscience, attachment theory, psychodynamic theory and developmental psychology, to encourage growth in children and the cultivation of healthy parent-child relationships. Through gaining insight into one’s own childhood, a parent can better understand thoughts and feelings surfacing around parenting challenges, and achieve greater clarity and ownership in parenting decisions.

I respect and honor working with families of all make ups, each formed and created in their own unique and special way. I value working with clients of all ages, from varying cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities.
